Systemtechnik LEBER GmbH & Co. KG is a member of the BURGER GROUP

What makes us unique:
Development partner with deep knowhow in terms of communication bus systems together with deep knowhow in terms of embedded systems and power electronics

Working with Nordic Semiconductor:
Nordic chips are very important in special for low power applications which becomes more and more priority

Which projects we focus on:
-    Development projects in different markets, from Automotive, to industry, to consumer, to medical or aviation. Always with the deep knowhow in motion systems and communication systems
-    Development Projects with 5-10 Engineers
-    All customized, so every project is planned newly
-    From Supporting work packages (only programming) till complete product development
-    Examples: Force-Feedback-Gaming Wheel (Simracing), Smart bike computers (Cobi/Bosch), Turbo Exaust flap control, Cable Tie Pistol, SIL3 Motor starter

Design services
We offer design services for the development of electronic hardware and firmware as well as the development of complete products including all necessary certifications. With our experience in the field of systems engineering, we can plan and conceptualise a wide variety of projects and products.
We follow the V-model and sometimes combine it with elements from Scrum. The conceptual design is done using block diagrams for hardware and software. At the beginning of the project, the requirements are agreed with the customer, e.g. in workshops, and these are recorded in Polarion and tracked throughout the project. After a baseline has been drawn in requirement management, implementation follows. The hardware is implemented using the Altiumdesigner tool with a connected component database. This database contains tested and reviewed components. These have already been used successfully in other projects. This has minimised the frequency of errors. As with all the other tools we use, we can also use the tools that our customers give us. For example, we have already used Polarion, Mentor Pads, Eagle, AutoCAD etc.. As mentioned, the circuit diagram and layout are created in Altium Desiger and reviewed by other colleagues according to checklists. The mechanical design and collision control with the electronics is done with Solidworks. The resulting data is produced by rapid prototyping with partners from the region. PCBs can be assembled and delivered in 1 to 3 weeks and mechanical parts can be printed or sinteed.
In firmware development, we work with a Jenkins server as a build server. Connected to this is code documentation in Doxygen and versioning in SVN. We often work with FREERtos or Zephyr or other embedded operating systems. Our approach to firmware development is test-driven development. We use Unittesttools like Unity for running module tests and Unittests for regression tests.
As soon as the electronics and firmware have been integrated, a test is carried out according to test specifications. This test specification is produced by Polarion. Within this test phase there are electrical tests and tests that work together with the firmware. We also carry out an EMC/ESD test accompanying the development at partner laboratories and temperature tests at minimum and maximum ambient temperature in our climate chamber. ESD tests accompanying development can also be carried out by ourselves. We calculate 1 to 3 development cycles for our developments, depending on the complexity of the product. Therefore, after each development phase, we plan the next phase by means of a findings list.
As a rule, we then accompany our customers through the certification phase in the areas of system testing, EMC/ESD, environmental testing, protocol testing, etc.
