Who we are and what we do: 
 Intent is a design & engineering partner for connected products, spanning embedded firmware on Nordic SoCs, Bluetooth-first mobile app, and cloud back ends. We’ve shipped/debugged Nordic-based products from smart wearables, MedTech and consumer electronics to connected vehicles and industrial IoT. 

What makes us unique:
 Intent is a specialist partner for software in connected products. We deliver end-to-end work (strategy, UX/UI, mobile, cloud, and firmware) with deep expertise in BLE, low-power wireless, and Nordic-friendly stacks like Zephyr/FreeRTOS, due to the skill intersection between connected products and deep understanding of UX/UI for those solutions the majority of products are in consumer. 

Working with Nordic Semiconductor:
 We work across nRF52 → nRF54 generations and nRF Connect SDK/Zephyr where appropriate, and we can quickly spin demos to showcase capabilities. When needed, we’ll engage Nordic channels; we’ve solved issues at the mobile/BLE layer.

This includes proficiency in wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, , NFC, LTE-M/NB-IoT), IoT cloud services (like AWS IoT, Golioth), real-time and embedded programming (C/C++, ARM, RTOS environments), and native as well as cross-platform mobile frameworks (Flutter) for efficiency . We’re also experienced with AI/ML integration for smart devices and data analytics, when projects require an intelligent edge. By staying current with technologies like Zephyr RTOS and modern frameworks, we ensure that our clients’ products are built on a future-proof, reliable tech stack.

  • Engagement Model – Turnkey vs. Specific Services: We are very flexible in how we engage. Some clients hire Intent as a turnkey solution provider – we handle everything from the ground up, delivering a ready-to-launch product. Other clients come to us for specific needs or expertise. For example, a company might already have hardware and come to us to develop a companion mobile app, or they might need our help with a particular component like firmware development, UX design, or a one-time code audit/due diligence for an IoT product. We’re comfortable leading full product builds or integrating into an existing team to deliver a specific module.   1.  Health & Wellness (Wearables) – Building software for health-tech and wellness devices is a major focus. For example, we developed the app experience for the Ōura Ring, a wearable that tracks sleep and biometrics . We’ve also worked on other medical and wellness IoT products, giving us insight into compliance (HIPAA, etc.), data security, and user engagement in digital health.
  2.  Digital Health & MedTech –we support clients in broader medical technology and healthcare platforms. For instance, we worked with Tomorrow Health (a health services platform) and Siren (a smart medical wearables startup) among others, to develop software that meets the stringent needs of the healthcare sector. These applications often involve data analytics, telehealth integration, and high standards for security and privacy. Our familiarity with this vertical means we can navigate the extra regulations and build products that improve patients’ lives.
  3.  Automotive & Mobility – We’ve contributed to connected car and mobility projects, working with brands such as Jeep, Maserati, Rivian. These projects can range from mobile apps that interface with vehicles, to IoT systems for fleet and transportation. We understand the automotive industry’s requirements for reliability, safety, and integration with hardware systems.
  4.  Consumer Electronics & Audio – We have rich experience with audio and consumer electronics applications. Our team has created companion apps and firmware for high-end audio equipment brands like Bose and McIntosh.
  5.  Smart Home & IoT Devices – Many of our projects fall under the smart home or general IoT category. We’ve partnered on video streaming platforms (for home entertainment) and have experience with IoT home devices and appliances. Building apps and cloud services that tie together connected home devices is a strength of ours, including handling device provisioning, firmware updates, and user-friendly remote controls. 

Design services
 Embedded SW on Nordic (nRF52/nRF54), security, and Bluetooth-first mobile apps with device-to-cloud integration. We handle provisioning/pairing, debugging and performance of BLE stacks, then wire data to cloud back ends (AWS, GCP, GraphQL, REST, ETL) with dashboards/APIs. We also do rapid prototyping and can own end-to-end features across firmware, mobile and cloud.

 We’ve integrated Apple ANCS/AMS, Android Fast Pair and Apple ecosystem flows, navigation (e.g., Mapbox mirroring to device), and cloud services (AWS, Golioth) alongside Nordic connectivity stacks. We also have hands-on experience with Apple’s Accessory Setup Kit (ASK) and multiple frameworks within Apple’s MFi Program e.g. secure accessory setup, provisioning, transport/payload handling, and certification workflows (e.g. keyless unlock flows and media control over BLE).
