Who we are and what we do:
Palta Tech provides hardware and firmware design and development. Founded in 2015, we are a senior hands-on engineering team specialized in IoT and power electronics. We cover the full project cycle, from the first hardware concept up to mass production. We also do consultancy on existing designs, to find issues and propose improvements.
What makes us unique:
Our engineers have strong knowledge of both hardware and firmware, so schematic, layout and embedded software can be understood and solved together during development. That shared skill set keeps the product moving without a hard split between the board and the code. Our background in power electronics also helps us connect IoT in industrial environments, where the wireless design has to work next to supplies, power stages and field interfaces. We are a passionate team, and we make a point of staying current with new devices, tools and engineering practices.
Working with Nordic Semiconductor:
We have been designing with Nordic devices for more than six years. We started on the nRF52 series for developing small beacons with ultra low power consumption. Later we developed LoraWAN and LTE Gateways using nrf52840 and nrf52832, supporting productions of more than 10k units. Finally we incorporated the nrf54 and nrf91 lines which allowed us to increment the security protocols and BOM integration.
We handle both hardware and firmware, covering all stages of product design from conceptualization to manufacturing. We are a dynamic company and we adapt to the EDA tools the clients prefer for PCB layout or mechanical CAD.
On the firmware side, we mainly build around Zephyr RTOS. We have specialized in its infrastructure, and have made contributions to it as well.
Which projects we focus on:
We are a dynamic company, able to support a short time to market: from cost-sensitive products such as beacons to complete industrial gateway designs. We work as a design consultancy, from a specific hardware or firmware task up to transfer to production, not as a turnkey manufacturer. Typical applications are asset beacons, remote telemetry and industrial connected devices, often combining a Nordic SoC with GPS, LoRaWAN or LTE. Most of our customers are in North America and Europe, and we have also delivered projects on the other continents
Design services
Palta Tech is a design consultancy and design house. We take the customer specification and develop schematic, PCB layout and embedded software, then continue through rapid prototyping, pre-production testing and validation, pilot builds and transfer to production.
We use the Nordic device the project needs, on Zephyr / nRF Connect SDK, including Bluetooth LE. We integrate the wireless SoC into the rest of the board, with complementary radios and industrial interfaces such as LoRaWAN, GPS, LTE, RS-485, RS-232 and OSDP when the application needs them.
