Trace Engineering is a product design, embedded system and true full-stack development firm located in
Denver, CO. We design, manufacture, and deliver end-to-end engineered systems in industries ranging
from agriculture, military and industrial, to quantum computing.

Working with Nordic Semiconductor:
We build on Nordic Semiconductor’s latest ultra-low-power chipsets, including nRF9151 and multiple BLE SoCs. Our custom PCB designs cover board layout, antenna engineering, and FCC certification. Devices run our Rust firmware stack on a field-proven embedded/industrial IoT platform. We pair our own ultra-low-power edge runtime and ML tooling with services like nRF Cloud and best-in-class location and positioning services to deliver an industry-leading cost-to-performance combination.
Which projects we focus on:
Trace Engineering builds real, scalable industrial IoT products, combining bespoke engineering with a turnkey, modular connectivity platform designed for full production. Our solution delivers ultra-low power cellular connectivity (including NTN-ready paths), GPS, multi-tower positioning, and BLE location, packaged in ruggedized enclosures with a flexible sensor suite (radar, LiDAR, environmental sensing, equipment health/power monitoring, and light sensing). Customers can deploy it as a stand-alone device or integrate it into existing systems, enabling rapid time-to-market without sacrificing customization. We’re the best fit for complex asset tracking, condition monitoring, remote sensing, edge intelligence, and automation where reliability, cost, and fleet-scale operations matter. Backed by end-to-end services including PCB/PCBA design and manufacturing, enclosure/FEA, programming and process development, and embedded + cloud + application software.
