Company introduction
Who we are and what we do:

Onomondo is IoT connectivity infrastructure for product teams building connected devices at scale. We own and operate our own software-defined core network, directly integrated with 680+ carriers across 180+ countries, giving customers programmable connectivity and full real-time visibility into every device. Our infrastructure is built to evolve with the product, not force a rebuild every time your business or a network changes.

What makes us unique:
Most connectivity providers resell access to someone else's network. Onomondo owns and operates its own core network, integrated directly with hundreds of networks worldwide.

That difference is what makes everything else possible: connectivity that's fully programmable instead of locked behind a carrier's fixed offering, real-time visibility into every device without opening a support ticket, and non-steered SIMs that connect to the strongest available signal instead of a carrier's preferred roaming partner.

Security is built into that same network layer from the start, not bolted on afterward, backed by ISO 27001:2022, ISO 9001:2015, NIS2, and GDPR compliance. And because we own the infrastructure, customers are never locked in. If a business needs to switch carriers or change how a fleet is managed, that's a configuration change, not a hardware redesign.

Working with Nordic Semiconductor:
Onomondo's SoftSIM is built directly into the Nordic Connect SDK, giving Nordic Semiconductor
customers a 100% software-based SIM that works out of the box on the nRF9160, nRF9161,
and nRF9151, for both new devices and those already deployed in the field via a firmware
update.

It's an established, production-proven collaboration built around a belief both companies share:
that low-power design matters. SoftSIM reduces power consumption, cuts data overhead, and
removes the physical SIM entirely from the bill of materials. Learn more here and check out the
latest list of SoftSIM-supported modules.

The partnership also extends to Nordic's nRF93M1, a Cat 1 bis module for more data-intensive
IoT applications that need higher throughput than LTE-M or NB-IoT can offer. Nordic's
development kits ship with pre-provisioned connectivity from Onomondo. That's a real enabler
for single-SKU global deployment: one hardware design, one SIM, and consistent coverage
from day one of development.

Which projects we focus on:
The combination of low-power design and global reach is what IoT teams come to us for. We work with teams building connected products at scale, often across multiple regions. Onomondo is vertical-agnostic, supporting deployments across asset tracking, telematics and automotive, smart metering, energy and utilities, EV charging, POS systems, and logistics: for teams that need global deployment without regional carrier contracts, programmable connectivity, and predictable, usage-based costs.

Solutions
At the core of Onomondo is a Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) that gives teams full control over their cellular fleet, backed by connectivity across technologies; 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M, and NB-IoT on SGP.02 and SGP.32 standards. Through the platform, teams manage SIMs and networks, monitor devices in real time with Insight Tools, route and secure traffic with no-code Connectors and OpenVPN/IPsec, and control all of it via API. Onomondo's global IoT SIM is built to work the same way everywhere a device goes. One SIM, one SKU, and one configuration cover all networks, so entering a new market means shipping the same hardware rather than negotiating a new carrier contract or managing a new supply chain. Because the SIM is non-steered, it connects to whatever network has the strongest signal in that moment instead of whichever partner a carrier prefers, which means fewer dead zones and faster registration as devices move.

We offer the following solutions in combination with Nordic products:
☒ Cellular connectivity
☒ Cloud and Device management
☒ 3rd party protocols, software libraries & SDK
☐ Programming
☒ Testing
☐ Certifications
☐ Positioning systems/platforms
☒ 3rd Party Prototyping platforms / Development kits

UN Sustainable Development Goals
Our work contributes most directly to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). SoftSIM removes the physical SIM entirely with no plastic or SIM logistics and shipping required. Cloud Connectors cut device power consumption by moving processing into the network, extending battery life and allowing for smaller batteries.
